Water treatment is no longer optional for industries across India. With stricter pollution control norms from the CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board), every factory - from textiles to mining - must treat its effluent before discharge. And at the heart of every efficient ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) is one critical chemical: the polyelectrolyte.
A polyelectrolyte is a high molecular weight polymer that carries an electrical charge. When added to wastewater, it neutralizes the charge on suspended particles, causing them to clump together - a process called flocculation. These clumps (called "flocs") then settle rapidly to the bottom, leaving behind clear, treated water.
There are three types based on charge:
Most industries use either liquid or powder form. Powder polyelectrolytes like BIGROCK FlocPro™ offer distinct advantages:
If your ETP is showing slow settling, high turbidity in output water, or excessive sludge volume - the problem is often the wrong polyelectrolyte grade or incorrect dosage.
BIGROCK FlocPro™ is available in multiple molecular weights and charge densities, specifically engineered to match your treatment requirements. We recommend a jar test before finalizing dosage to ensure maximum efficiency.
